Pilot Schedule
Pilot Schedule is the aircraft reservation system used by the flying club at Franklin County Airport. After contacting the airport to get setup in the system, you can follow this link to access Pilot Schedule.
Both Franklin County and Northeast Kingdom (Newport) airports have several different aircraft available for rent and training purposes. The best way to get setup with either group is to call the airport.

Ground School
Every pilot needs a good ground school to prepare them for the written knowledge test. I have personally used both Sporty’s and King Schools courses. Both are excellent, both will prepare you well.

AOPA
The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. The largest advocacy group in the country protecting your freedom to fly. They have the most pilot resources available, including memberships and insurance options. Their website is worth a long visit to explore all they have to offer. NOAA Aviation Weather Center
Other than landing, knowledge of weather is perhaps the most important part of flying. You can access the NOAA Aviation Weather Center to check the weather in your area.

Digital Charts
Every pilot needs a good map. As part of your private pilot training, you will need visual flight rules (VFR) maps, also called sectional charts. These used to be printed, but now we use digital on our phones and tablets. There are two excellent options for this. Garmin Pilot, available on Android and Apple, and ForeFlight - currently only available on Apple devices.

IACRA
The Integrated Airman Certification and Rating Application (IACRA) is where you apply for your student license, pilot’s license(s), and additional ratings. You’ll become familiar with this system as you progress as a pilot.

FAA MedXPress
All new pilots are required to have a valid medical from and Aviation Medical Examiner (AME). One of the things you will need to do before your exam is fill out a form on the FAA MedXPress website.
